Six Dartmouth Club Sports Teams Headed to Nationals

Six Dartmouth club sports teams are headed to national championships this spring. The undefeated men's club hockey leads the way, taking to the ice March 10 in St. Louis, Mo. Twenty-three players will represent Dartmouth. This is the second time the team has qualified, but the first time the club hockey team has participated in the national club tournament due to COVID.

April will be a busy month with five more teams competing at national championships. Another ice team, figure skating, will lace up its skates as it heads to Adrian College in Michigan. Four teams from each of the four regions in the country: Pacific Coast, Midwest, Southeast and Northeast make up the 16-team two-day competition.

The Big Green fencers travel to Providence, R.I. for tournament bouts that will crown champions for women and men in each of the three weapons, plus team titles for women, men and a combined champion.

While the fencers wield their weapons, the coed tennis team will take racquets in hand and head to Orlando, Fla. for world team tennis style play with men's and women's singles and double and mixed doubles. Rounding out April Nationals competition, the women's and men's club volleyball teams will be among the 492 teams gathered in Phoenix, Ariz. at the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation Championships which features 11 divisions of competition.

In addition to Big Green student-athletes completing their seasons with a nationals run, spring sport clubs will be vying for their turn at nationals competition in May.
