Cardio Conditioning

This class is an aerobics based training class including aerobics, running, jump rope, plyometrics, strength training, kickboxing, and heavy bag punching done in a dynamic workout to music.

  • Location: Alumni Gym MP 182 (directions: Enter the Gym through the front door and swipe your ID. Go through the lobby. Once through the lobby, turn right and go through the door that leads to the indoor track. There is a hallway to the left. Room 182 is at the end of the hallway

Modern Dance

Technique of Martha Graham is the basis of these classes which progress carefully from a basic and thorough introduction to an energetic, challenging, and healthful movement experience. Classes are intense, rigorous, and challenging as they focus on correct technique as well as proper body conditioning and toning. Emphasis is on recognizing familiar body patterns and executing them with the precision of the dancer or athlete.

Beginner

Pilates to the Core

Pilates exercises develop strength, stability, and flexibility through muscular effort that stems from the core. However sometimes accessing the core support while performing Pilates moves can be so challenging that it creates reverse effects like rigidity and tightness. Understanding core support and how to obtain it, takes your Pilates moves to a whole new level. It leads to greater strength and mobility in daily life and other athletic activities.

PiYo Body Conditioning

 Tuck to engage and strengthen, roll to relax and lengthen. This basic movement is used in an evolving series of Pilates exercises and Yoga poses to increase flexibility and strengthen core muscles to attain optimum posture and agility. Alexander Technique concepts will be emphasized.  Yogic Breathing methods set the timing of exercise sets resulting in an increased level of oxygen in the blood. Results include enhanced physical capabilities, mental clarity and a sense of well-being.

Power Pilates Plus

Get ready for a FUN, FULL Body Workout!

Using the classical Pilates principles, this dynamic class will stretch, mobilize and strengthen you using free weights, resistive bands, and the fitness ball.  With an emphasis on Core, body alignment, and functional strengthening, you'll have fun moving to tunes, leaving you challenged and ready for more!

Spinning (Group Cycling)

Come spin your way to fitness with the dynamic Spinning Workout. New Keiser high tech bikes that uses rhythms and music to pump up the psyche as well as the quads, calves, and heart. First time riders and pro-riders can all work together with the fully adjustable tension on the "top of the line" bikes. Free spirited, indoor cycling is a great way to power up this term!

Only 19 people per class.

Spin/Strength/Abs

Wake up workout with Bernie class that begins with a 30 minute spinning workout followed by strength training in the Fitness Center and an abdominal workout combined with stretching.

Stretching and Flexibility

This class introduces students to basic, correct posture, enhances students' coordinationand sense of timing, and tests their abilities to balance, pivot, and project through space. The course works to increase flexibility, timing, stamina, strength, agility, and confidence.

Whole Body Conditioning

This class is designed to attain a stronger & more balanced body. Participants will learn to work with a variety of equipment including free weights, weight machines, kettle bells, balance equipment & yoga
balls. Workout sessions are varied to achieve a well-balanced & interesting regimen with the goal of attaining each individual's best result. All sessions
will begin a cardio workout on a variety of equipment. 
All ages and levels welcome

Zumba

Zumba is a Latin dance inspired, aerobic exercise that incorporates steps from meringue, salsa, hip-hop, and more to make a high-energy dance workout that leaves you smiling AND sweating. No dance experience or skill required! As long as the music is going and you are moving, it is the most fun way to work out! It is no wonder Zumba®'s motto is "Ditch the workout, join the party!
